Background information:
Keith is the Group Chairman based in Europe and the lead member of the construction and engineering disputes team. He has a strong interest in supporting the energy sector and in particular the development of sustainable energy, particularly the offshore wind market. Keith has been involved in over 32 Offshore Wind projects worldwide providing Legal, Commercial and Supply Chain support. Having a degree Construction Management, he has operated at Director for over 30 years within the construction & energy industry, with a diverse experience in the contractual service sector. He qualified in Law in 1996 and completed his Bar entry examinations in 2006, before developing further experience, providing advice across the procurement specialist field, including claim strategy, contract administration, dispute resolution, testifying expert, adjudication, and construction arbitration. Keith has extensive experience of FIDIC and has managed numerous international construction disputes. He has been appointed Expert Witness on five occasions specialising in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plus latterly forensic economic advice. In the past as Commercial Manager for Shell Brunei, he was responsible for the control of offshore, and onshore platforms, charter vessels, mooring facilities and fixed drilling platforms. He was also responsible for the completion of two cracker facilities, both onshore. In addition to subsea production systems experience ranging in complexity from a single satellite well with a flow line linked to a fixed platform, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) or an onshore installation, to several wells on template or clustered, transferring to a fixed or floating facility, or onshore installation. He has also worked on the construction of floating platform construction for both onshore and offshore facilities. Keith recently provided a conference on adjudication in the Far East concerning legislation update explaining the 2012 Malaysia changes to adjudication. He also regularly provides training seminars on various matters. Keith has recently completed North Sea projects in Offshore Wind, further details can be provided upon request – subject to confidentiality. The projects have covered pre-CFD, post-CFD, financial close, contractual establishment, cradle-to-grave, completion (practical completion).
