e-INDUSTRY NEWSLETTER

Prime Dispute is pleased to offer you our monthly e-Industry Newsletter. This edition examines 'Do industry sectors understand what a conflict of interest is?'. We will also highlight current news and developments in the world of dispute avoidance and resolution.

Do industry sectors understand what a conflict of interest is?
Potential conflicts of interest exist in all industries. Whilst it is unrealistic to try and eradicate them, the challenge is to recognise them and to have mechanisms in place to manage them sensibly and effectively. Anyone operating within the business world needs to understand what constitutes a conflict of interest and how they can influence the way people think and behave. It does not necessarily follow that a conflict of interest automatically leads to bias but a person’s biases can influence how they think and behave. Read More

"Very proud to be up at the top again of Prime Dispute's Global Member social media commentator chart, amongst the best practitioners of ADR and brilliant brains dedicated to dispute resolution theory and practice. Thank you Prime Dispute for continuing to support us each of us in our own way, jurisdiction and industry, in trying to make a difference to the way in which we manage claims and disputes!"
Sarah Schutte - Solicitor-Advocate, MPD

"I attended an ADR seminar recently where one of the speakers said that the Rolls Building was a splendid edifice, but for a new and modern court building it had one major and surprising defect - it only had one entrance door. It should, the speaker said, have had three doors - one for the courtrooms. one for arbitration and one for mediation. I thought that was rather a good observation!"
Ian Ridd - Barrister FPD

"Saudi 2030 Vision - Dispute avoidance/resolution will play a role to support both growth and development
As an APD (Advocate Prime Dispute) member, I look forward to supporting the mission of Prime Dispute. I am pleased Saudi now has a clearer vision which will create opportunities for both development and growth. Dispute avoidance and resolution mechanisms will play a sustainable role during this process and I look forward to the journey ahead"
Hammad Khan - FCCA APD
