Background information:
Dr Andrea Colorio is an Italian qualified lawyer and the founding partner of Colorio Dispute Resolution. Previously Dr Colorio was a partner at PMAB Platter, Ausserer, Bauer & Partner. He focuses his practice on complex civil and tax litigation, as well as on national and international dispute resolution work (including investor-State negotiations under Bilateral Investment Treaties); in this respect, he has been involved in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and institutional, acting as administrative secretary to the arbitral tribunal, party’s counsel, co-arbitrator (before the ICC International Court of Arbitration) and sole arbitrator. Dr Colorio is a full member of the Academy of the Agiati of Rovereto and collaborates with a number of Research and Publishing Institutions. He has published extensively in the field of comparative legal history and in October 2014 and May 2016 he was visiting scholar at Harvard University´s Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, DC. In addition to a Master’s degree in Law (magna cum laude) from the University of Milan-Bicocca and to an MBA from the Milan Polytechnic Graduate School of Business (MIP), Dr Colorio holds an international triple Ph.D. from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, the University of Milan-Bicocca and the University of Szeged. He is included on the European Commission’s list of candidates suitable for appointment as arbitrator in bilateral disputes under the European Union’s trade agreements with third countries and is admitted, among others, on the List or Panel of Arbitrators of Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC: List), Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia Arbitration Centre (BANI: List), Thailand Arbitration Centre (THAC: Panel), Maldives Arbitration Centre (Panel), Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano (Panel) and Venice Chamber of Arbitration (Panel). Dr Colorio is a Fellow of Prime Dispute (FPD) and the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (FMIArb), a senior member of the International Economics Development and Research Center (IEDRC) and the Vice-President of the Italian Chapter’s Executive Committee of the Club Español del Arbitraje (CEA, Spanish Arbitration Club); he is also a member of the HK45 Arbitration Group, of the Chinese European Arbitration Association e.V. (CEAA) and of “Arbitrando”, as well as a past member of the Young Arbitrators Forum of the ICC (YAF), the Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution Young & International networking group (ICDR Y&I).
