Trainee / (TPD)
Free to Join TPD (Trainee Prime Dispute) membership is completely free and open to anyone studying at a university or other higher education facilities. Prime Dispute will support trainee members' in working towards gaining; knowledge, skills and qualifications within our profession and progressing to APD (Associate Prime Dispute), MPD (Member Prime Dispute) and finally FPD (Fellow Prime Dispute) membership. |
Associate / (APD)
Suitable for any professional who is starting their journey in dispute avoidance/management and/or resolution. APD Requirements APD membership is available for individuals who fulfil route 1 or 2: Route 1: Experience Nine months experience in conflict/dispute avoidance, management or resolution. A reference letter will be required from any professional, preferably a Prime Dispute member at any grade, who can provide first-hand experience of your involvement in conflict/dispute avoidance, management or resolution. Route 2: Qualifications
No experience required only a successful pass of Module 1/optional modules or an acceptable pass of an equivalent accredited course/development module** on a subject relating to arbitration, adjudication, mediation, etc. |
Member / (MPD)
Suitable for middle management professionals. MPD Requirements MPD membership is available for individuals who fulfil route 1 or 2: Route 1: Experience Minimum of 4 years experience in arbitration, adjudication, mediation, etc, in a lead/sole capacity and have been a party representative in at least six (6) arbitrations/mediations/adjudications, etc. Please Note: Two (2) reference letters may also be required if the Executives at Prime Dispute deem appropriate. Route 2: Qualifications
Successful pass of Module 1 & 2 or an acceptable pass of an equivalent accredited course/development module** on a subject relating to arbitration, adjudication, mediation, etc. |
Fellow / (FPD)
Suitable for senior professionals, industry specialists, or academics. Our highest grade of membership recognises individuals who are in a position of senior responsibility in dispute avoidance, management &/or resolution and are likely to have made a significant contribution to the profession through their experience, technical excellence and leadership skills. FPD Requirements FPD membership is available for individuals who fulfil route 1 or 2: Route 1: Experience Minimum of 8 years senior* experience in arbitration, adjudication, or mediation, etc, in a lead/sole capacity; including the management of proceedings and attending hearings that have resulted in the publication of a reasoned award or decision, etc (if copies of the award/decision are uploaded/requested they must be redacted). Understanding of the law (relevant to your practice area) or recognised equivalent. Experience of writing: (i) directions and final; reasoned awards or decisions/(ii) mediation agreements, memorandums of understanding or heads of agreements (or as appropriate to your practice area). Route 2: Qualifications
Successful pass of both Modules 2 & 3 or an acceptable pass of an equivalent accredited course/development** module on a subject relating arbitration, adjudication, mediation, etc. Please Note: Peer Interview for Fellowship may be required if advised by the Executive(s)/Board(s) at Prime Dispute. *Fellowship is also open to senior academics/professors. A priority pass to join our 'Panels' & gain certification as an 'Educator' can be requested if you are accepted as an FPD member.
Panels / A priority pass to join our 'Panels' will be provided; if you 'Act' as a practitioner (Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Mediator, etc) and meet all the requirements on our; 'Criteria for inclusion on Panels' (Joining the Panel is by invitation only). Certified Educators / FPD members' can request to gain certification as an Educator and will need to meet all the criteria terms to become a 'Certified Educator'.
