Dr Marc R Labgold has 30 years of experience as a registered U.S. patent attorney specialising in patent litigation, as arbitration counsel and as an independent international arbitrator. Dr Labgold is an independent arbitrator, listed on several international panels (AIAC, AIPLA, THAC and WIPO). He also regularly serves as lead counsel in complex international commercial arbitrations under both common and civil law, pursuant to varied institutional rules, in disputes arising from a wide array of contract types including, inter alia, OEM agreements, EPC contracts, industrial construction contracts, distribution agreements, license agreements, joint development agreements, research agreements. He has experience and expertise, both as counsel and as arbitrator, in disputes involving patents, other IP, and the misappropriation of trade secrets. An accomplished trial advocate, Dr Labgold has served as lead counsel in more than 60 patent infringement litigations in the United States and numerous appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Florida International University, College of Law (FIU Law), teaching international commercial arbitration as well as coaching FIU’s Vis Moot team.
