Education in Conflicts & Dispute Resolution
“Education is the most important weapon that you can use to change the world.”* It is believed that education can avoid and resolve disputes and carries utmost importance in all ages because it functions as an engine of development, progress and prosperity for any nation.
The acquisition of knowledge is no longer merely a means to further influence and reach goals, it is increasingly essential to exist and support economies and businesses. As global economies become more developed, their respective societies are facing the consequences of this emergence of knowledge to help strategy be at the forefront of all decisions.
Historically a plethora of wars and political strife have been due to geographical disputes largely motivated by the resources present on that land. Indeed still today many political issues arise from disagreements over ownership of land and property. The increase of business and industry sector disputes have formed another battlefield because of the implicit power associated with them and the need to maintain relationships. Increasingly, however, large disputes are centred on information. These disputes are mainly between firms, either infringing on, or protecting their intangible assets commonly referred to as intellectual property, whether its patents or trademarks or anything in between.
More than ever the way to a better working world will become reliant on the degree of conflict/dispute avoidance/resolution education available and provided as an alternative to litigation as business and people will seek to retain commercial relationships. The reputation of conflict/dispute avoidance/resolution talent from around the world within each country will boost their global rankings with Prime Dispute and government worldwide.
Conflict/dispute avoidance/resolution training will not only impact small groups, but in fact the economy at large. Having a large proportion of the population being educated in conflict/dispute avoidance/resolution will increase economic growth as a whole, and support developed economies to resolve dispute within an economical framework and save adverse damage to reputation.
Education in conflict/dispute avoidance/resolution has never been more vital for the well-being of a country, and its importance is on the rise still. For this reason Prime Dispute Certified Educators across the world must make the importance of their role known, and encourage higher participation and better support for the benefits of conflict/dispute avoidance/resolution training. This increase in demand for education will hopefully lead to a better appreciation of Educators’ at large, better industry led cohesion and a more robust economies.
Prime Dispute Vision 2035 will lay the path for which our membership will play in supporting all industry sectors, government and nations worldwide in education.
