The space sector remains a key growth area for industry, academia and the government, with the ambition to gain 10 per cent of the global space business by 2030. One of the goals of the UK government is to ensure that it continues to have a globally competitive and progressive regulatory regime.
The Space Industry Act 2018 (SIA) received royal assent in 2018 and is likely to come into force in 2021. The SIA will govern all activities carried out in or from the UK.
